The statements could be useful for developing teaching and talking points.   From my perspective they do not appear to be widely distributed and most congregation members do now know about them even after 2009. 

Yes, some talk about the 2009 Church policy change that came with because of that year's social statement but it seems even though it passed, it is not read by most congregations and not talked about as an ELCA social statement.
