ELCA Youth Ministry Network - Region 1

Region 1 is geographically the largest Region in the ELCA (over 1 Million square miles!) This provides both unique opportunities and distinct challenges in regards to youth ministry. We've got a lot of great leaders, with some valuble resources and input. 

The ELCA Youth Ministry Network exists to Renew, Connect and Educate people engaged in ministry with and among children and youth. The Network is a professional organization that serves to create a level of competencies in youth ministry that allow youth ministry professionals to “take it beyond dodge ball and pizza” to a level of transformational discipleship. We've also got a facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/24724851048/ where often folks share articles they've read, or resources they find. But this Soul Cafe group will be perfect for us to really connect about ideas or topics we might like to discuss. Everyone in youth ministry in Region 1, or who is interested to know what is going on with YM in Region 1 is encouraged to join the Soul Cafe and Facebook groups even if you aren't members of the ELCA Youth MInistry Network. Though you are really encouraged to check out all the Network has to offer it's members. Such as:

·         Third Tuesday Conversations are an opportunity for those involved in youth ministry to interact with experts in the field of youth ministry. They are open to anyone.

·         Extravaganza is an annual 4-day conference that draws together anywhere from 500-750 adults who work with children and youth in congregations of the ELCA for the premier renewal, education and networking event of our church.

·         Martin’s List is a collection of resources available to those who are members of the network.

·         Other resources include a membership directory, salary and benefits survey, and opportunities for connection with colleagues and experts in the field
